ebs Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace for Education Integration
This online documentation provides customer information for integrating Microsoft Entra ID or Google Workspace for Education with ebs.
Microsoft Entra ID is a cloud-based user identity and authentication service from Microsoft that is used to manage identities and authentication for Microsoft 365 (also known as Office 365 or Microsoft 365 authentication)
Google Workspace for Education is a suite of cloud computing productivity and collaboration tools from Google (originally launched as Google Apps and later known as G Suite for Education)
The following pre-requisites are required to complete the configuration steps described in this online documentation:
-
Administrative permissions to make changes to the Microsoft Entra ID or Google Workspace tenant
-
Access to the ebs application server where the website is hosted
-
Access to amend Institution Settings in ebs.
-
Access to amend Dashboard Configuration settings in ebs: Intel
It is also necessary to identify the piece of information that is unique in ebs and the external authentication provider that will be used to match records together (for example: the user’s email address).
Note: ebs: intel only supports matching on email address.
This online documentation describes how to configure ebs to make use of the same authentication flow from these authentication providers giving users a single sign-on (SSO) experience.
